Unlimited-Licensed
General Contractors
in NC & SC.

Full-scope commercial and residential construction with no project-size limits and one team accountable for the entire job.

What an Unlimited GC License Means for You

Not all general contractor licenses are equal. Many contractors hold limited licenses that cap the dollar value or scope of projects they can legally take on. Foothills Building Group holds unlimited general contractor licenses in both North Carolina and South Carolina — meaning there's no ceiling on the size or complexity of projects we're authorized to manage.

What that means for you: you're working with a firm that can handle your project from a single structure to a multi-phase commercial development — all under one accountable team, with the licensing to back it up.

We self-perform the work we can and manage the specialty trades we bring in. Either way, we own the outcome.

Commercial Construction
Warehouses, office buildings, retail, light industrial, and specialty commercial facilities.
Residential Construction
New home construction, custom builds, accessory dwelling units, and specialty residential projects.
Ground-Up Builds
We coordinate and manage site work, foundation, framing, MEP trades, finish work, and final delivery.
Phased Developments
Multi-phase commercial or residential projects managed under a single team with full continuity.

How We Communicate on Every Project

We believe the biggest complaint about contractors isn't the work — it's the silence. Foothills maintains regular communication with every client throughout the project. You'll always know where your job stands, what's next, and who to call if something comes up.

Written, detailed scope of work before we break ground.

Common Questions

General Contracting FAQ

What does an "unlimited" GC license actually mean?

Most contractors hold limited licenses that cap the dollar value or project scope they can legally manage. An unlimited license means no ceiling — we're authorized to take on projects of any size or complexity in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Do you self-perform work or use subcontractors?

Both. We self-perform the trades we have direct expertise in and bring in vetted specialty subs where needed. Either way, Foothills owns the outcome — we don't pass the buck to whoever was on-site last.

What types of commercial projects do you handle?

Warehouses, light industrial, office and retail, agricultural and storage facilities, multi-structure campuses, and specialty commercial builds. If it requires an unlimited GC and a team that can coordinate the full scope, we're built for it.

Do you work on residential construction as well?

Yes — new home construction, custom builds, and accessory dwelling units. We bring the same licensed, accountable approach to residential projects that we do to commercial.

How do you handle budget overruns?

We build detailed scopes before we break ground and document every change in writing. If something is outside the original scope, we present it clearly before proceeding — never surprise invoices after the fact.
